Hand etched Tibetan Singing bowl

Tibetan Buddhists are renowned for their in-depth knowledge of sound and its effect on consciousness. As these bowls are individually spun and hammered from bell metal, mantras (sacred chants) are recited. Vibrations from the mantras are absorbed in the metal and released when the bowl is played. An enchanting harmonic hum is produced by slowly dragging the wooden dowel along the outside rim of the bowl. This lovely bowl has the hand etched mantra "Om Mani Pad Me Hum" along the outside and contains a four sided Dorje motif at it's inner base.
